The Dayan Family visits San Antonio area children and seniors to bring Israeli musical spirit

Leaders and students from the Block and Dreeben School for Young Children enjoyed flag waving and a concert with the Dayan family.

Commemorating the week of Israeli Independence, Western Galilee acclaimed singer, Israel Dayan, along with his children Sagiv and Shoval, came to San Antonio as part of the Jewish Federation’s special delegation from Partnership2gether and the Jewish Agency. The Dayan family visited area synagogues and schools to sing, dance, wave flags, and bring the spirit of the Israel all around San Antonio. The seniors and students of Gan Gani preschool enjoyed a lunchtime acapella show, and the students at Heintz Preschool of Agudas Achim and Torah Academy of San Antonio (TASA) came together to have an Israel day filled with activities and a special Dayan Family concert. The Block and Dreeben School and the Barshop JCC Seniors also came together for a lunchtime show to enjoy the sights and sounds of Israel as the Dayan family sang. On their visit to San Antonio, the Dayan family met hundreds of children and adults and their trip culminated in the community-wide Yom Ha’atzmaut celebration at the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Campus of the Jewish Community. Their songs, passion and energy served as a true inspiration to deepen connections with Israel.
