San Antonio welcomes two delegations from the Western Galilee Partnership region in North America and Israel. In September, Dr. Marcy Paul of Fort Worth and Dr. Janan Faraj Falah of Akko in the Western Galilee were accompanied by Carmit Gilad, Coordinator for the Partnership2Gether Western Galilee in Israel. They led a successful session entitled “A Multicultural Conversation About Women in Israel” at the Yom Limmud (Day of Learning) for the Jewish Federation of San Antonio. The delegation also met with leaders and toured local Universities including Trinity University, the University of the Incarnate Word, the University of Texas at San Antonio, and St. Mary’s University.  Paul and Falah embarked on a tour through US Partnership cities and embraced their time in San Antonio to learn about the city’s culture and academic worlds.

In November, San Antonio will host a delegation of 7 young adults from Budapest and Israel. This group’s goal is to gather and connect with local young adults from San Antonio and other Texas cities. These connections will come from touring opportunities, social time, Tikkun Olam work, and teaching and learning together. Alan Yancelson will be chairing this young adult delegation visit along with Jewish Federation of San Antonio Education and Engagement Coordinator, Lauren Abraham.
