Congregation Shalom High Holy Day Services Open to Community
August 3, 2022
Congregation Shalom, San Antonio’s newest Reform congregation, will be conducting multi-access services for the High Holy Days this year. In-person services will be held in the Fellowship Hall at House of Prayer Lutheran Church, 10226 Ironside Dr, San Antonio, TX 78230. Services will be led by Rabbi Lisa Goldstein, accompanied by Manahara Virasinha. After all members who wish to attend in person have been accommodated, remaining space will be opened to the community at no fee, however advance registration will be required for security purposes. All services will also be broadcast on Zoom and live streamed on YouTube Live.
“We have found that as a small congregation, we can easily integrate participants in the room and on Zoom into one community. Our use of Zoom Meeting, instead of Webinar, enables us to create an intimacy and sense of community wherein everyone knows they belong and they matter, “ Rabbi Goldstein commented. “It also allows us to involve members in the service in a variety of both traditional and innovative ways. We’ve got a few surprises planned, and we’re excited to take full advantage of this opportunity to be creative!”
Prospective members and spiritual seekers are welcome, and are especially encouraged to reach out in advance to tell us when to expect them so that they can be welcomed warmly at the services they choose to attend. Information, schedule, and registration materials are at https://www.shalomsa.org/high-holy-days.
