Creating New Passover Traditions with PJ Library

April 1, 2022

Passover is here and it is a perfect time for families to pass down long-standing traditions or create new ones! As you sit down for the Passover seder, remember to think about Passover through the eyes of your children and grandchildren. How can you create a meaningful and memorable experience for them? Here are a few ideas to help include the children at your seder this year.

  1. The right music always livens up a gathering. PJ Library has a Passover-themed playlist available on Spotify, featuring songs from the Maccabeats, Rick Recht, Meshuggah Beach Party, Shira Kline, and more. Type “Passover Playlist” in the Spotify search bar to discover playlists and PJ Library Passover podcasts.
  1. Play “Who Knows About Passover,” a PJ Library card game. CLICK HERE to download this PDF. The cards have fun questions, activities, and suggestions to use around the seder table. All who are there can enjoy the fun!
  1. Play Passover Bingo. Ask everyone to fill out an empty bingo card using a list of Passover-related words that you come up with (think: Moses, matzah, plague, desert, etc.). The game starts as soon as the seder begins. When one of the words on a player’s card is heard, that player marks it off with a highlighter. When a player covers a whole row, they call out Bingo!
  1. Go to pjlibrary.org and type “Passover” in the search bar for many more fun ideas.

Is this the year that you will add a new tradition to your Seder?
