JCC Updates
(Editor’s note: As of May 13, 2020)
With local restrictions beginning to be reduced, the JCC is preparing to phase in a series of select services with modified schedules under local and state safety guidelines and recommendations.
The JCC is responding to the needs of enrolled families who qualify as “essential workers” by providing childcare in the Early Childhood and After School programs, until current restrictions are lifted.
On May 13, JCC resumed Tennis Courts operations to members based on a modified schedule with new safety and cleaning protocols and playing practices being deployed.
Lap Swim and Fitness Center usage opportunities are scheduled to resume May 19, also on a modified schedule. Usage will be based on limited capacities as set by the Governor’s recent orders. Both the number of members and time duration per slot will be limited to ensure effective physical distancing and cleaning protocols can be executed.
“We are aware that our protocols and practices are more stringent than ever before; based on the feedback we have received from our members, we are confident that everyone will agree that following established industry, local, state and federal guidelines is necessary in order for those who are interested in returning to a fitness regimen can do so in as safe and responsible manner as possible,” said Saul Levenshus, JCC President/CEO.
Plans for JCC Summer camp remain on track, once again, under strict guidelines and protocols recommended by local experts. “J-Camp this summer will still include the hallmarks that our campers know and love: fun, friendship, and memories that will last a lifetime,” said Rachel Rustin, J-Camp Director.
The JCC’s website (www.jccsantonio.org) is continually updated with information as it becomes available in addition to providing members and the community with virtual engagement opportunities in a variety of areas.
