Dear JFSA Community,
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce that Craig Berkowitch has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Jewish Federation of San Antonio, effective immediately.
Craig has served as our Interim CEO with distinction, and during this time has demonstrated the qualities we need in a permanent leader. He has provided steady, principled leadership at a critical moment for our community. He brings clarity of vision and a deep commitment to strengthening Jewish life in San Antonio. The Board is confident he is the right leader for this moment.
During his tenure as Interim CEO, Craig focused on listening—to community members, staff, and lay leaders—while addressing both internal priorities and the broader challenges facing Jewish communities nationwide, including rising antisemitism and increased security needs. His thoughtful approach and dedication have earned the trust and respect of all who have worked with him. We are fortunate to have Craig’s continued leadership as we move forward together.
Please join me in congratulating Craig on his appointment. We look forward to the work ahead under his guidance.
With warm regards,
James Rosenblatt
Chair, Board of Directors
Jewish Federation of San Antonio
