Jewish Healthcare Professionals Unite at Healthcare Harmony Event, Discussing Peace, Coexistence, and Israeli Health System

The Maimonides Society of the Jewish Federation of San Antonio hosted its second event of the year, “Healthcare Harmony,” where Jewish healthcare professionals gathered to explore the nexus of medicine, peace, and coexistence. The event provided an opportunity for medical practitioners to connect and network.
At the event, attendees heard from speakers Dr. Wafaa Bellan, MD, and Aya Kagade, MHA, MEM, who both work at the Galilee Medical Center in our Partnership 2Gether region in the Western Galilee. Dr. Bellan and Ms. Kagade brought insights into the groundbreaking work carried out at the Galilee Medical Center, which stands as a model for peace and coexistence in the region. The center’s unique approach emphasizes the importance of fostering harmony among diverse communities, transcending geopolitical boundaries, and prioritizing humanitarian ideals. The Maimonides Society is at the forefront of both philanthropy and service in the Jewish community and has gained momentum in the past few months, starting with its first event in recent years, in May. The society provides a unique opportunity for healthcare professionals to connect with others who are dedicated to healing the sick and committed to the notion of tikkun olam (repairing the world).
As the event concluded, participants left with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to making a positive impact on the world through their medical expertise. The Healthcare Harmony event served as a powerful testament to the potential of healthcare professionals to bridge divides and promote peaceful coexistence through their shared dedication to healing and humanity.
