Purim with Agudas Achim

February 1, 2021

Join Congregation Agudas Achim to fulfill the Mitzvot of Purim; hearing the Megillah, donating to those less fortunate (Matanot L’evyonim) and giving gifts to friends (Mishloach Manot).

This Purim season we will be collecting food for the San Antonio Food Bank as our Matanot L’evyonim project. Giving to others, especially during Purim, ensures that everyone has the means to celebrate during the holiday and honors the heroes of our Purim story, Esther and Mordechai for saving the Jewish people. Bins from the Food Bank will be at Agudas from Monday, February 22nd through Monday, March 22.

Our Women’s Rosh Chodesh group will be gathering virtually for a fun evening to learn about the holiday of Purim, meet our new Executive Director, Rikki Arad, and welcome the new month of Adar together on Thursday, February 11th.

We will be hosting a Purim Party on Thursday, February 25th at 5pm, for our community to enjoy hearing the Megillah and celebrating safely together. Grab some treats, make some crafts, and celebrate in costume in the courtyard.

Sections of the Megillah – The Scroll of Esther – will be read during the Thursday Purim Party on February 25th and again on Friday during the Friday Morning Minyan. You can join via Livestream as well as by visiting the Agudas Achim Website or Facebook page.
