Congregation Beth Am Welcomes Visiting Rabbi Armin Langer via Zoom

May 5, 2022

Congregation Beth Am welcomes a visiting soon-to-be-ordained rabbi for adult education sessions on Friday evening, May 6, and Saturday evening, June 4. Both events will be held on Zoom.      Dr. Armin Langer, currently a student at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in Philadelphia, will talk about the history and observance of counting the Omer at 6:30 p.m., before the congregation’s Kabbalat Shabbat service, on May 6.

Since 2019, Armin Langer has been working at RRC’s Center for Jewish Ethics and since 2020, at Congregation Am Haskalah in the Lehigh Valley, PA. He is originally from Germany and holds an M.A. in Jewish studies and a Ph.D. in sociology. He has worked as an educator and prayer leader in various Jewish communities across Europe, the US, and Mexico.

On June 4 he will join Beth Am in a Havdalah ceremony and observance of the first night of Shavuot. His lesson will center on the holiday’s theme of revelation.
