Becoming an Eagle Scout

Cole Rosenberg
I started my journey in Cub Scouts as part of Pack 2003 with 3 other Scouts, and half of us were Jewish. Now, 10 years later, we have all become Eagle Scouts. From helping each other on campouts to participating in our Eagle projects, having a great group allowed me to learn even more while enjoying Scouts.
Despite meeting in a church, Micah Hickey and I always felt included in Scouting America Troop 498. The support we received helped us achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.
Additionally, I had a role model to look up to: my grandfather. He, too, is a Jewish Eagle Scout and the only person in my family to have achieved the rank. Throughout the years he has encouraged me to continue along this process, always asking how close I was to completing it.
We are extremely proud to be both Jewish and Eagle Scouts.
Micah Hickey
I got involved in Scouts when I was 6 years old, as a Tiger Cub and it was mainly a way for me to hang out with my friends. However, Scouts has really taught me about perseverance and working hard for a goal I wanted to attain. I did something similar when it came to my Bar Mitzvah, where I worked hard on something that was challenging and saw that I could achieve it. My experience in Scouting has equipped me with life-long skills, and prepared me to be a leader in my community.
