Congregation Shalom Online High Holiday Services Open to All

September 1, 2021

Congregation Shalom, San Antonio’s newest Reform congregation, will be conducting multi-access services for the High Holy Days this year. Due to limited space, on-site services are open to members only, however, services will be simultaneously broadcast via Zoom and live-streamed on YouTube, and all are welcome to join in. Services will be led by Rabbi Lisa Goldstein, accompanied by Manahara Virasinha. The congregation has been invited to share the spiritual home of Casa de Alabanza

“We have found that as a small congregation, we can easily integrate participants in the room and on Zoom into one community. Our use of Zoom Meeting, instead of Webinar, enables us to create an intimacy and sense of community wherein everyone knows they belong and they matter, “ Goldstein commented. “It also allows us to involve members in the service in a variety of both traditional and innovative ways. We’ve got a few surprises planned, and we’re excited to take full advantage of this opportunity to be creative!”

As a security measure, pre-registration is required, after which registrants will receive the Zoom links. Prospective members and spiritual seekers are welcome and are especially encouraged to reach out in advance to tell us when to expect them so that they can be welcomed warmly at the services they choose to attend.
