HMMSA Upcoming Teacher Workshops

We invite educators to join us for one of three teacher workshops to prepare for Texas Holocaust Remembrance Week: December 8, 2020 from 3:00-5:00PM January 6, 2021 from 4:00-6:00PM and January 7, 2021 from 4:00-6:00PM.  In December, we welcome a special guest from US Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC to discuss Night by Elie Weisel and their exhibit Some Were Neighbors. On January 6, we will focus on the needs of K-5 students with ideas for teaching empathy, tolerance, and Holocaust pedagogy. Our January 7 workshop will provide resources and lesson ideas for teaching about the Holocaust. All educators who complete a workshop will receive two State of Texas CPE hours and a care package including Our Voices, Our Lives, a book with local survivors’ stories for the classroom. We look forward to serving our educator community.
