JCC Block and Dreeben School for Young Children Opens Registration for the 2022 – 2023 School Year

February 1, 2022

The JCC Block and Dreeben School for Young Children is the only Jewish nationally accredited early childhood program in San Antonio and one of only 39 programs nationally accredited city-wide. The program offers a play-based curriculum for children four weeks to five years of age providing a supportive, nurturing environment that promotes the emotional, social, physical, cognitive, and spiritual development of young children.

Children learn about Jewish customs, traditions, and values through the curriculum and environment. Additionally, Kabbalat Shabbat is celebrated every Friday and Havdalah on Monday mornings. Children participate in Jewish holiday celebrations through activities, which include cooking traditional foods, singing songs, reading stories, and role-playing.

Depending on the age of the child, a variety of scheduling options are available including a full day – 7 am – 6 pm – to accommodate schedules for working parents.

Families interested in the program should contact the school at 210-302-6846 for information, be added to the waitlist, or receive a link with a presentation, which will be sent out to prospective families in late February highlighting the school philosophy and provide a virtual tour of the classrooms.

Registration will open to the community in mid-March. Enrollment is exclusive to JCC members, and a membership application must be completed in order to receive access to register for the school. Families currently on the waitlist will receive further information about registration via email in late February.
