JCC presents the Virtual Main Event April 10

This year’s Barshop JCC annual fundraiser, like most events these past 12 months, will take place virtually in livings rooms across the San Antonio community and beyond on Saturday, April 10 beginning at 8pm.
“While this year’s event will be virtual, the need is real and more acute than at any time in recent history,” said President/CEO Saul Levenshus. “And the theme, Cheers for Volunteers, is especially fitting for this year’s honorees, Jean and Phil Kolovson, Elaine and Steve Kovner, and Ilene and Stephen Kramer for their collective and unwavering support of the JCC and the Jewish and general communities,” Levenshus added.
Registration for the Main Event, including the online auction, is free and open at www.jccsanantonio.org/mainevent. While a credit card is required to RSVP and bid in the auction, credit cards will only be charged once an individual wins an item and/or selects an item to purchase. Items will continue to be added to the auction up until the night of the event.
Proceeds from the event benefit youth and senior services, scholarship programs, and future projects at the JCC through the Walter and Reba Viner Charitable Fund.
“Because the Main Event will be entirely virtual this year, we are counting on support from our sponsors and shoppers to play a key role in helping us exceed this year’s fundraising goal and continue the important work the JCC does on behalf of our community,” added Leslie Hyman, Chairman of the JCC Board.
To augment the virtual experience, the JCC is also featuring an additional component in conjunction with the virtual event called The Restaurant Rally to weave in a food component. The Restaurant Rally will run April 1-11, during which participating restaurants will provide a promotional offer to customers or a percentage ‘give-back’ to the JCC.
