JCRC Meets with Congressmen about Israel and the Jewish Community
November 2, 2023
By Lisa Epstein
Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) Chair Barbara Powell and JCRC Director Lisa Epstein visited the offices of Congressmen Castro, Casar, and Cuellar on October 27, 2023, to share with them the photos of the 229 hostages barbarically taken by Hamas, including babies, children, men, women, and the elderly. The photos served as a reminder of the inhumane, incomprehensibly evil attack on October 7 by Hamas, who brutally killed 1,400 people and injured thousands more in Israel. Powell and Epstein asked the Congressmen for an unwavering commitment to bring the hostages home, to support Israel’s fight to end Hamas’s reign of terror in Gaza, and to support security grants for the Jewish community, facing rising antisemitism in the U.S.
