Kosher Passover Meals for Jewish Older Adults
April 1, 2021
San Antonio Jewish Senior Services (SAJSS) continues to make meaningful connections by reaching older adults in our community who may still be physically distanced. This Passover, SAJSS contacted hundreds of older adults in our community offering to order and deliver kosher Seder meals prepared by Café Rodfei. More than 100 older adults received a Passover meal this year, co-sponsored by partners such as Congregation Agudas Achim Sisterhood and the Jewish Federation of San Antonio Community Crisis Campaign Allocations Committee, and community friends like you. In addition, SAJSS delivered Passover staples to help Jewish older adults in senior living facilities celebrate the holiday. Programs like the Passover deliveries make a lasting impact on San Antonio’s Jewish older adults.
“Receiving the Shabbat and holiday deliveries makes me feel part of the community!”
“Your phone calls make me smile and remind me that I am not alone.”
“We don’t have any family; thank you for being our family.”
SAJSS hopes the community will consider making a gift this month to support San Antonio Jewish Senior Services’ programs that keep older adults connected to the community:
- $1,000 ensures Shabbat deliveries for 250 older adults
- $500 provides transportation for an older adult for one month
- $36 provides a holiday meal for an older adult
