PJ Library Hanukkah Highlights and Upcoming Event
January 3, 2022
PJ Library had a very busy Hanukkah season. The fun started with Hands-on Hanukkah at the Barshop JCC where children made edible menorahs. PJ’s next stop was at SeaWorld where families danced with Sesame Street characters, learned about Hanukkah, read a book, and lit the menorah. Thank you to Nammie Ichilov, Sammi Mazuz, Cantor Ken Cohen, Rabbi Marina Yergin, Rabbi Tal Shaul, Rabbi Yoel Lax, and Sea World for teaching, singing, reading, and entertaining on stage.
PJ Library celebrated the third night of Hanukkah at the beautiful hotel Estancia del Norte by lighting a 9-foot tall menorah and jamming to the amazing music of musician Jason Mesches. Joe Hernandez, a local photographer, snapped photos with the “Mensch on the Bench” and the Barista Kats served delicious specialty coffee and warm hot chocolate. Thank you to Elsa Barshop and her family, the Charles Letty family, and Estancia del Norte for helping make this event possible.
PJ Library helped Chabad Center for Jewish Life and Learning celebrate the fifth night of Hanukkah at their Hanukkah Carnival. Families had another opportunity to make edible menorahs. It turns out there are many ways to make a candy menorah, who knew?
Thank you to all those who attended!
Don’t miss the next PJ Library event, a Tu B’Shevat Family Funday on Sunday, January 9 at 12:15 at Agudas-Achim. This event is free and open to community members, however, registration is required.
