Temple Beth-El Hosts Courageous Conversations
April 1, 2022
Temple Beth-El invites members of the Jewish community to join them online Tuesday, April 26th at 7 pm, along with Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, and the greater San Antonio community to conclude the Courageous Conversations book series featuring “Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents,” with a presentation and Q&A with the author, Isabel Wilkerson.
Prior to the evening discussion, Jewish teens and teens from Antioch Baptist Church are invited to join Wilkerson at 5 pm for a Zoom discussion on the importance of engaging in the work of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion), and the challenges of being an active anti-racist as a young adult.
Isabel Wilkerson, winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the National Humanities Medal, has become a leading figure in narrative nonfiction. She is widely hailed as an astute interpreter of the human condition, and an impassioned voice for demonstrating how history can help us understand ourselves, our country, and our current era of upheaval. Temple Beth-El is thrilled to host her in San Antonio this spring.
Thank you to the many sponsors who are helping to make this program possible, including H-E-B, H.E. Butt Foundation, and Spurs Give.
