Barshop JCC and Green Spaces Alliance Join Forces on Water Conservation
June 15, 2021
More than 70% of the Earth is covered in water, yet one in ten individuals around the world lack access to clean drinking water.
One such country that has cracked the code is water-poor Israel. Israel leads the world in wastewater recycling, reusing more than 80% of its wastewater, with the next closest country being Spain at 20%.
The Barshop JCC is collaborating with Green Spaces Alliance of South Texas to present a screening of the groundbreaking documentary, Sustainable Nation, on Sunday, June 27 from 5-7 pm.
From the creators of Netflix-featured, Beneath the Helmet: From High School to the Home Front, and PBS-featured Israel Inside: How a Small Nation Makes a Big Difference, Sustainable Nation is an hour-long documentary that follows three individuals who are doing their part to bring sustainable water solutions to an increasingly thirsty planet. Through the use of tactics developed in Israel, the trio shows how fixing global water issues is not only a matter of life and death but also the start of healing the world.
The film will be introduced by Green Spaces Alliance of South Texas CEO, Doug Dillow, who will stay after to converse with audience members about the work Green Spaces does in protecting undeveloped water and land resources through conservation, education, and community engagement.
Tickets are available now for $10. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit: www.jccsanantonio.org.
