NOVEMBER 12, 2025 — It’s no secret – we’re living through what may be one of the most consequential chapters of our collective history. Unprecedented times have dominated the last few years of our lives, and continue to threaten to upend our future. Pressures are mounting, here in San Antonio, in the United States, and abroad. It’s become more and more difficult to be Jewish – even more so to be proudly, unapologetically Jewish. Our work at the Jewish Federation of San Antonio has never been more important.

Earlier this year, the Jewish Federation of San Antonio began to explore this new landscape – putting our community at the center of the conversation. Through the years, our work has evolved, but has remained true at its core: to connect and support the Jewish Community of San Antonio, and help secure its future. For years, we’ve worked behind the scenes, helping partners in the community and abroad achieve their goals, grow their footprint, and make meaningful change. With our four pillars to guide us, we not only create change, we mold the impact we can have in our community.

Amplifying Joyful Jewish Life

All Jews, from any and all backgrounds, search for meaningful connections, joyful community, and opportunities to live our Jewish lives out loud. The Jewish Community in San Antonio is vibrant, inclusive, and inspiring – poised to build and strengthen the next generation, and our shared future. Just ask the parents of PJ Library children, or the young adults sitting with new friends at the Young Adult Division’s monthly “Hebrews” meetup. We’re proud to invest in programs, agencies, and groups that celebrate Jewish life in San Antonio, foster connections, and ensure joyful, meaningful Jewish experiences for our community.

Mobilizing to Meet the Needs of Israel

Now that the hostages are home, the recovery phase in Israel begins. Needs are changing rapidly, and the Jewish Federation of San Antonio is poised to help meet those needs. Through our Israel Crisis Fund, partnerships across Israel, including in the Western Galilee, our Partnership2Gether region, and investments in local non-profits and agencies, we’re helping to fill gaps in service, meeting short-term needs while investing in what’s needed to heal physically, mentally, and emotionally in the long-term. We’re standing with Israel now, through recovery, and beyond.

Caring for Jews and Others in Need

From helping those impacted by natural disasters, taking on the loneliness epidemic, or helping those in need in our community, the Jewish Federation is there – offering critical support and care. Our investments touch every potential need in the community, from mental health counseling, to senior services, scholarships, inclusion programs, and sacred end-of-life care. We believe that building a strong community in San Antonio means that no one faces life’s challenges alone. Through our investments in the community, we’re breaking new ground in how care is funded, delivered, and secured, for years to come.

Securing the Community. Fighting Antisemitism.

This year has been a particularly difficult year for Jews in the United States and around the world. After October 7th, Jewish hate ignited in ways few anticipated, causing incidents of antisemitism and antisemitic violence to soar across the country to unprecedented levels. According to a recent study by the Anti-Defamation League and Jewish Federations of North America, one in five Jews have encountered increased antisemitism since October 2023. Through the Holocaust Memorial Museum educational programs and resources, we are fighting antisemitism and bigotry, creating a new generation of upstanders, and building a brighter future.

Thanks to the leadership of the Jewish Community Relations Council and their partnerships across the community, with local and federal law enforcement, threats to the Campus in Summer 2025 were mitigated quickly. As we move forward, we’re doubling down on security and advocacy, investing in proven methods, and using every resource, strategy and relationship at our disposal to diminish the threat of antisemitism.

The future of the Jewish Federation of San Antonio is vibrant, inclusive, and inspiring – but it can only be achieved with your support. A gift to JFSA unleashes a wide range of ways to support agencies, programs, and groups across San Antonio and in Israel, leveraging so much more than a contribution anywhere else. We’re prepared to handle any crisis thrown our way.

Help us inspire the next generation and ensure a stronger, more vibrant Jewish future for all.
