Goldblatt Twins Celebrate B’Nai Mitzvah

Jarett & Sylvie Goldblatt

Sylvie Rose Goldblatt and her twin brother, Jarett Cooper Goldblatt, were called to the Torah as B’Nai Mitzvah on Saturday, May 8, 2021 (26 Iyar 5781) at Temple Beth-El. They are the children of Jeff and Lori Goldblatt and the siblings of James and Styra. Sylvie and Jarett shared their simcha with grandparents Kenny and Cherry Goldblatt of Bethesda, Maryland and Glenn and Jo Seiden of Highland Park, Illinois.

Sylvie is currently in 7th grade at Hector Garcia Middle School and a member of the National Junior Honor Society. She plays basketball and loves her summers spent at Camp Agawak in Minocqua, Wisconsin.

Jarett is currently in 7th grade at Hector Garcia Middle School and a member of the National Junior Honor Society. He likes playing in the neighborhood with friends and loves his summers spent at Camp Kawaga in Minocqua, Wisconsin. Friends and family traveled to San Antonio from across the country to watch Sylvie and Jarett chant Torah.

For their mitzvah project, they made blankets which they donated to Project Linus, a nonprofit that provides new, homemade blankets to children in need. The twins are currently participating in the JCC BetterTogether in a Box Program, which is an intergenerational opportunity designed to virtually connect local Jewish teens with older adults through a video pen pal program.
