Resources Available for Grandparents Raising Grandchildren
An estimated 36 percent of grandparents in Bexar County are raising their grandchildren. Beyond the everyday tasks, there are so many additional needs to consider when raising grandchildren – such as tax and health care benefits, mental health challenges, legal documents, support groups, and other resources.
Jewish Family Service San Antonio (JFS) has gathered a panel of social service professionals who will discuss and answer questions for grandparents and other relatives raising children. The free seminar – Kinship Care 101: A Discussion for Grandparents Raising Grandchildren – will be held online Thursday, Sept. 10 from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
