Barshop JCC Hosting Two Film Screenings

March 31, 2023

Please join the Barshop JCC for a  special screening event of two remarkable films, Exodus 91 and BrownWhite, at the Barshop JCC on April 27th at 7:00 PM.

BrownWhite, a short film directed by Ruchama Ehrenhalt, explores the unique challenges faced by Israeli biracial children and how skin color can affect their development of identity. The film provides a thought-provoking perspective on the intersection of race and identity and sheds light on the complexities of growing up in a multicultural society.

Exodus 91, a docu-drama film, recounts the incredible story of the 1991 mission to airlift 15,000 Ethiopian Jews to Israel. The film blends archival footage with dramatic reenactments to provide a vivid portrayal of this historic event. Through personal accounts and expert commentary, Exodus 91 offers a compelling and inspiring testament to the resilience and determination of the Ethiopian Jewish community.

Tickets for the screening event are priced at $10, and students with a valid student ID will receive free admission. We encourage you to join us for an unforgettable evening of cinema as we explore the themes of identity, diversity, and human resilience.
