Craig Berkowitch steps into his next role: JFSA Interim CEO

JULY 1, 2025 — The Jewish Federation of San Antonio is pleased to announce the appointment of Craig Berkowitch as Interim CEO, effective July 7, 2025. A seasoned executive with over 30 years of experience in organizational leadership, nonprofit development, and Jewish communal life, Berkowitch brings both strategic insight and a deep personal commitment to the San Antonio Jewish community.

Berkowitch’s career has included senior roles at Deloitte, BearingPoint, H-E-B, and most recently ArchPoint Group, where he served as Vice President. His nonprofit leadership includes two terms as Board Chair of City Year San Antonio, President and CEO of Congregation Agudas Achim, and currently, a key leadership role in Project Mazel—a collaborative initiative focused on building a strong, connected Jewish future in Greater San Antonio.

“Craig’s love for this community runs deep,” said James Rosenblatt, Chair of the JFSA Board. “He’s not just a leader—he’s a listener, a connector, and someone who shows up with heart. In this moment of transition, his steady presence and genuine commitment to Jewish life will help guide us toward a strong, vibrant, and united future.”

“We are living through an important and defining moment for the Jewish people—both here in San Antonio and across the globe,” said Berkowitch. “As we navigate local transitions and respond to the ongoing challenges facing Israel and world Jewry, I’m honored to help lead with steadiness, clarity, and compassion. Our strength has always come from our unity, and I believe that spirit will carry us forward.”

Berkowitch will assume the role from Randy Czarlinsky, who has served as Interim CEO for the past six months with dedication, professionalism, and care. JFSA is grateful for his steady leadership during this transitional period and the meaningful contributions he made to the organization and community.
