Hadassah Tu B’Shvat program

December 1, 2020

Soon it will be a new secular calendar year (2021) filled with numerous opportunities to connect with the community; learn about Jewish beliefs, practices, history, people, and holidays – even if it still may be done virtually!   Annually, January brings Tu B’Shvat – the New Year for Trees & with that a growing interest in what may be developing within the once barren Holy Land, Israel. To help nurture Israel, Hadassah traditionally observes Tu B’Shvat with the planting of trees in Israel through the Jewish National Fund.  To support the effort, certificates may be obtained at $18 per tree through the Hadassah San Antonio Chapter by emailing Emily Sparks at [email protected].

To enrich these discoveries, Hadassah Associate, former Congregation Agudas Achim Rabbi Jeffrey Abraham will bring his popular Israel & the Jewish People class back to San Antonio via Zoom.  This timely class will take place at 12 noon on Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, just a few days after the U.S. Presidential Inauguration. Rabbi Abraham will discuss our new President’s plans for the U.S. and Israel, including what new policies may be enacted, the status of the Abraham Accord, which prior agreements may resume or be deleted. The group discussion will be based on factual current events, open to questions and answers among friends.

To obtain the ZOOM ID & Password, RSVP to Debbie Linck at [email protected]  before January 20.
